Finding Rhythm in Magdeburg

Moving to Magdeburg brought a shift I didn’t expect. The city is quieter than what I was used to, but there’s a rhythm here that grows on you. My days started settling into a new kind of routine—morning walks, long working hours, and evenings spent experimenting in the kitchen. Without the usual noise and distractions, I found more time to focus—on myself, my work, and surprisingly, on cooking.

Learning to cook was less about food and more about slowing down. Following recipes, figuring things out one dish at a time—it became a way to disconnect from the screen and connect with something tangible.

Sometimes routine isn’t boring—it’s grounding.

Now, my days in Magdeburg feel balanced. I work, I cook, I walk around the city. It’s not glamorous, but it’s real. And in that rhythm, I’ve started to appreciate the kind of calm that helps creativity breathe.
